Rally Race License

After getting my MotorsportNZ race license last year, I was given an opportunity at the last Auckland Mini Club meeting.

One of our members asked if there was anyone that wanted to help co-drive his Mk1 1969 Mini in Targa Rally in 6 weeks. I thought about it, and after the meeting asked Chris a little more about it. He dropped a few books over the coming days and set me on the path to get my Off Road Navigator License from AASA,, Australia. This will help when Chris puts in the application for he and I to be part of Targa!

Chris also said he’ll ask his wife to help teach me how to be a good navigator, as I’ve never done it before… So hopefully, there’ll be another post in few more weeks with info on how the Targa Rally went… Eek 🙂

Cycle Pathway Audit

After being asked by Kimberly Graham “Grab Your Wheels” to participate in this audit of some pathways and cycle ways, how could I refuse.

It was so good going out through Pakuranga Rotary path and checking to see how suitable it is for wheelchair users for AT. Also how suitable for different types of wheeled conveyances, hand cycle, e-bike, cycle, wheelchair clip&ride and more.

It was a great morning and so lucky to be part of the group. We all really enjoyed the morning and shared some smiles while chatting about the pathway itself.

I look forward to doing more as the weeks go on.
