Spinal Symposium – 13th & 14th Feb

Darren Svirskis and his team put together another fantastic event of OT’s, Physio’s, Doctors, and researchers talking about what SCI means, and how they can reach conclusions.

This is an amazing collection of collaborative people working together with the help of AUT, with a single focus, help individuals with spinal injuries lead better lives.

I used to think (probably like most people) tracking your back is like breaking your arm, eventually it’ll heal and you’ll be fine. Not so much. Life in a wheelchair isn’t just about sitting down all the time, there are many other factors that come into play that you normally wouldn’t think twice about. How to get around at home, any leg work for standing transfers, bowel and bladder control, feeling, hand function, etc. Most people think it’s just about wanting to stand again, when in reality, every person is different and what their ‘walking’ looks like.

This specialist group of incredible people are doing all they can to make out challenges, some challenges most of us can’t even imagine. Thank you.
