OHS, turning Japanese

It’s been a while since I was at school, but I went back again, to learn more…

This time, it’s Japan, the language, the culture and the people 🙂 Huge thanks to OHS (Onehunga High School) and their adult evening education classes.

Mitsuko Sensai is a great teacher and does her best to interact with the class and show her students the best. I really enjoyed this 8week course, even so much that I’m going to be signing up for the beginner course again (I’m a slow learner yes, but I also really want to have a good grasp of basics when I go to Tokyo in March 2026). I like the idea of a refresher of the basics and then I can do a little practice before leaving next year. I feel it’s important to try hard when in another culture, another country, to understand the language, but also the people.

I’ll be going back again October for another 8week basic class, then I should almost be ready for the culture shock! Almost…
