Once a year FireUp Events helps corporate runners run the gauntlet up the Skytower. This year was no different to others, raising a bunch of funds and spreading a bunch of smiles (“Always smiles at the start line” Tony Scott). A big thanks to Scotty (FiredUp Events) and SkyCity for allowing the event to take
Every year these firefighters never cease to amaze me. Within a few months, these brave men and women, paid and volunteers, do way more than expected and channel their efforts to raise funds for LBC. $1,318,000 raised for LFC in 2019 by Firefighters doing their thing. Supported by FiredUp Events, this annual cause is backed
This was the Auckland Marathon event where wheelies were invited to take part and race over the Auckland Harbour Bridge for the first time! Starting at Devonport and soon becoming very hilly, all the way through to the bridge itself. What a great course and this very special event happened to be my first ever
Crazy Round the Bays again, this time as a Squirrel 🙂 Strange as it may seem, but it was really hot, well a lot hotter than I anticipated. Great fun and the kids on the course (& some adults) waved and laughed at the suit, I can’t imagine why… First squirrel across the finish line.
The work that all the staff of the Auckland Spinal Unit (Parafed, nurses, physio’s and the TASC office themselves) do an amazing job supporting this people through a very challenging time. So this was the first time I’ve helped with Stadium Stomp, yet long side Fired Up Events and Mike King, this is just as wonderful. Easy to look at the event and see how stream line and easy run it was, that’s without seeing everything that goes on behind the scenes. This was over 5,000
This was only the 5th year that Fired Up Events has run this challenge and yet they still managed to put a new roof on the cheque book! This years fundraising took in over $400,000 for LBC 😀  That is a mammoth effort from all thee corporate climbers who pay (through fundraising) to have the
After changing my costume choice several times, I finally settled on a panda for this years Round the Bays (Auckland). Turns out, that was by far the best choice! Children and adults alike enjoyed running with, calling out, and taking photos with the wheelie cool panda. Again I mangled the 16.8km (8.4km race, but I
