I was invited to share my story with the Dungannon group by Sonia Slade. This group of young men listened intently and it was really great being able to encourage such impressionable guys.
We all had a great day, with more than 30 people in attendance in SH1 & SH2 prone, standing and pistol categories shooting on the day. I was struggling with my match as there were a few challenges, however I still managed an average score for me. In the final, getting more focused, I pulled
Another class of 12 eager Travel and Tourism people asking all the right questions, and a few awkward ones. They had only been grouped together for a short time yet I could already see some strong bonds between them. With all those smiling faces I can see why so many Kiwi’s are hired when travelling.
16 vibrant minds looking for more information about dealing with specific needs. They were great (as always) asking good questions right till the end. I reminded of why I enjoy helping others at ACS06, so hungry for knowledge, it feels heart warming to be part of something bigger than me.

The Discovery for Teens group that we supported were along for the dinner in Auckland to celebrate challenging themselves/challenging poverty to win any awards! Turns out that during the evening we all have a fantastic time playing around, we scared Nicola (who enjoyed it) and they made a whole new category to give us something!!
I was invited for breakfast at the Eastern Beach RYLA Camp and able to watch Samuel give his presentation to the group. They all listened attentively and asked some thoughtful questions afterwards. I enjoyed being at the camp again and having a culpa tea chatting with Samuel before I left. He’s got a book ‘Sam’s
I had the incredible opportunity to visit Leipzig (Germany) with Rex Bionics when I was asked to help them by walking at the disability event. I was able to present the Rex device to many people and support Debra Leeves (Rex Bionics, Vice Preseident international sales and marketing). It’s hard to put into words how
Had a great time talking with this very talented group of individuals that Rotary brings together. Able-bodied teens are matched with other teenagers of simialr ages and varying disabilities, this opportunity gives both sides a chance to have experiences outside of what they would normally have. This personal development and interaction of youth who share
Air NZ does a stella job of helping new people to the Travel and Tourism industry understand the needs of the patrons they are about to support. Part of this induction process involves a little disability awareness, I enjoy meeting each group and this 16 strong team (only two guys!) was just as exceptional. I
